Upcoming Farmers' Market Event:
Arcata Farmers’ Market Harvest FestivalSeptember 30, 2017

The North Coast Growers’ Association invites the community to celebrate the height of the farming season at the Arcata Plaza Farmers’ Market Harvest Festival held on September 30, 2017 from 11am to 1pm. This free, family friendly event offers games, nutritional education, food preservation demonstrations, and seasonal activities fit for both kids and adults.

The Harvest Festival is an unique opportunity to celebrate Humboldt County’s local farmers, agricultural community, and local food system. Surround yourself with the largest variety of Humboldt County grown, GMO-free foods while listening to the playful all-ages folk music of Lyndsey Battle. With over 50 agricultural vendors you will be able to find delicious fruits, vegetables, humanely raised meats, pastured eggs, local honey, olive oil, and so much more to freshen up your weekend. The NCGA’s wide selection of handcrafted, artisanal non-agricultural products include goat milk soaps, deodorants, beard balms, hand spun wool, and candles that make great early holiday gifts.

Community members are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket, snack on a few ready-to-eat items in the food court, or play a game of cornhole. Stroll through the kid’s section for festive crafts, games, face painting, and pumpkin decorating. It will be a great day to spend the afternoon with friends and family celebrating another bountiful year on the North Coast.
